Installing e-bike and e-scooter corrals

Working in partnership with Nottingham City Council, the Trust team spent spring 2024 installing electric bike and scooter corrals throughout the city. The work was funded by the Department for Transport's ‘Transforming Cities’ initiative, with the aim of reducing Nottingham’s carbon footprint.

Over a six-month period, we assigned a dedicated team to collaborate with the council and deliver 150 corrals. A further 125 corrals are planned, encouraging more people to use e-bikes and e-scooters for short journeys in and around Nottingham.

The project builds on Nottingham’s initial e-scooter trial back in 2020. Since then, the scooters have been used to travel over 4 million miles in the city. Lime e-bikes were also introduced in 2023, and over 130,000 rides have been recorded.

Here at Trust, we’re proud to be part of Nottingham City Council’s ambition to create innovative, eco-friendly transport options for the local community and we’re looking forward to completing the remaining corral installations in the coming months.
